I wonder how that message will look when it arrives at one of my points. It appears inbound is going slow everywhere except Tommi's right now.I created the subj manually for this reply. But I think the ... is back on regular replies from here.
Regarding "going slow", 1hr between polls wouldn't be unusual for most bbses.

HotdogEd divide the message I am replying to up by previous

Hi, August! The Telegram poll is insanely fast already. <G> I'm a lousy typist and I hate seeing a typo get sent. I like the idea that Telegram allows an option to re-edit, but the TgM gate consumes the message almost immediately. Maybe add a feature to process incoming TgM messages at :00, :15, :30, :45 time slots according to the real time. ???

I think it's slow. Specially for hub systems! It's easy to do
immediate tossing today, and it doesn't cost you anything extra, like
when we were still on POTS...

In many ways, a lot of things are a lot better than an 40 years ago, for sure.
I can see POTS still useful if a community of users were within local calling of each other. But the phone company is doing its best toeven discourage a physical copper wire to home.
And, the consequences can be horrible; did you hear the audio clip
that posted in coffee_klatsch?
