    Cool.. I used Shift+Enter. A few times I *did* see a newline get added (so I knew it was possible), but I wasn't sure what I did in my sloppy/fast typing to accomplish that.

    Yes, many apps that normally send on hitting enter will put in a new line with <shift>+enter.

    Ctrl+Enter works too...
    Moreover, it is almost always possible to configure the sending of a message by Ctrl + Enter and CR+LF by Enter.
