Yeah but a BBS as big as this one is really overwealming.

Making friends via computer is no simple thing. Or did you mean using the BBS is not easy?

Just keeping talking to people... Some boards may have some match maker systems, but if you continue to participate in the message boards folks will start to become more familar with you.
