• move synchronet and upgrade questions

From JohnBWilloughby to all on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 20:17:50
I have version 3.15b installed on a very old computer, and am looking to upgrade as well as move, hoping to keep all my settings if possible. So I have a few questions

    1. Will 3.15b run on Windows 10 x64 ? Or should I upgrade to the latest then move ?
    2. If I want to upgrade to 3.18b, can I use the sbup316c, sbup317b, and sbup318b to get to SBBS 3.18b ?

It should, yes, but 16-bit DOS programs (e.g. many door games) will not.

Or should I upgrade to the lates then move ?

I would move, verify functionality on the new system, then upgrade.

    2. If I want to upgrade to 3.18b, can I use the sbup316c, sbup317b, and sbup318b to get to SBBS 3.18b ?

Yup. Also, this is not a Synchronet support conference. https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:support

Sorry about that, I thought I was in the right area to ask that question. I did go to the howto:support and registered and ended up here after I logged on. Just another quick question, is this the new web front end ? (well new to me, standard to others) ?

If you're using web.synchro.net, that is the newest Synchronet web UI by the electronic chicken (a.k.a. "ecwebv4"). If you're using vert.synchro.net, then that is the old legacy/runemaster web UI.

This look very sleek and cool. I think its time to start the migration.
