    My heart hurts for this nation. When will the killing stop?

    The killing will likely stop only when we have identified all the causes and resolved them. Some potential causes (in no specific order):

    1. Violence accepted in/as entertainment
    2. Abundance of very lethal guns in the hands of just about anyone
    3. Militaristic / war-focused nation state
    4. Xenophobia / racism / prejudice
    5. Societal pressure to be a conforming / productive citizen
    6. Widespread untreated mental health
    7. Unnatural suppression of innate human survival instincts / traits
    8. Chemical abuse / addiction
    9. Political and moral division of communities
