DOES ANYONE ON HERE DO HOBBY PROGRAMMING AND WANT TO HELP WITH A PROJECT?

I AM THE AUTHOR OF A TERMINAL PROGRAM FOR THE COLOUR MAXIMITE 2 COMPUTER, AVAILABLE ON GITHUB. I WOLD BE HAPPY TO GIVE SOMEONE A FREE COLOUR MAXIMITE 2 COMPUTER IF THEY WERE WILLING TO HELP ME DEVELOP THE SOFTWARE, IDEALLY BY HELPING WRITE FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL ROUTINES AND ANY OTHER GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS. THE COLOUR MAXIMITE 2 COMPUTER USES AN ADVANCED DIALECT OF BASIC CALLED MMBASIC. I CAN DO A LOT WITH WRITING THE SOFTWARE BUT ULTIMATELY I AM AN AMATEUR PROGRAMMER AND FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOLS IS BEYOND MY UNDERSTANDING. SO IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED PLEASE LET MME KNOW. MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS RECSTUDIO AT GMAIL DOT COM AND YOU CAN CHECK OUT THE SOFTWARE MAXITERM ON GITHUB. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. AND SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS, AS I AM WRITING THIS ON AN ORIGINAL LEAR SIEGLER ADM3A TERMINAL THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT LOWERCASE CHARACTERS.

I could probably help with an XMODEM implementation, at the least. Does your computer support TCP/IP?

Also, you'd hit a bigger audience of potential contributors by posting to one of the message networks carried here (e.g. DOVE-Net, FidoNet, etc.). This message group is just local to this BBS (Vertrauen).

The Colour Maximite 2 computer doesn't natively support TCP/IP so it uses an ESP module as a bridge between the TCP/IP world and its serial connection. It supports 3 COM ports, 1&2 that are TTL serial based on an expansion connector, and COM 3 is a console port through its USB connection to a host computer, if available. A contributor created a XMODEM implementation but it's only the original 128 Byte Checksum version, and its not very reliable or robust and seems prone to crashing or general problems, so I consider it incomplete. And the system could use some more advanced protocols like Y-Modem too, but just a reliable 1K XMODEM implementation would be excellent.

If you would like to take a look and check out how the system works, I can ship one of the computers to you for evaluation. Would that work?

    Thanks!
