    Help me to choose strings recomended for telecaster (to play solo). Sorry to say, but I`ve not a lot of money (~6-7$) (for ex. D`addario - 6$), so i need strings with the best regard : quality/$

    D'Addario are great. The gauge depends on what you can handle and what kind of
    tone you like. Heavy strings sound better but are harder on your fingers and the guitar's neck. If you go heavier than .010 for the high-E, you'll probably
    have to have your nut reslotted.

    If you want the original crispy sound out of that guitar i would prefer fender "original bullets" or alternative the cheaper fender "rock'n roll". For soloing
    i would try a gauge of .009 to .042

    I have tried many sorts of strings in my life and I think, D'addario's are kinda good and I also like Dean Markley's.

    I've personally found that D'Addarios are too cold sounding for anything overly useful than the longest lasting string I've come across. Dean Markely and Fender I personally prefer for the "warmer" sort of sound but DM's I've found snap pretty quickly and Fenders tend to go dead and corrode pretty quickly, so either way, D'Addario appear to have the monopoly cuz I'm poor :(

    Fenders are nice, I've had problems with DMs balls being just a touch too large... they stick in the tailstop on my LP and trem block on my Strats, but don't seat all the way... net result is they constantly go flat until the ball is finally fully seated, and when it's time to change strings, it is a major pain to get the balls out.

    hmmm.. fair enuff.. i've never had that sort of problem.. they've actually been the best for my guitars balls-wise.. <g>.. but yes, i've had problems with other strings getting stuck.. mainly d'addarios.. hmm?
