Re: Guitar playing, of course!

instruments I ever had the pleasure of just plain SHREDDING! People say I pretty good, actually unbelievably good, and I'm starting to agree with them now. Even though it took over 30 years to get here.
Humble too, eh? :-)
I don't know that I'd say humble.. That's actually what I was for so long, then people kept convincing me that I was intensely unbelievable, so I got over my insecurities and finally accepted it. Now, as an example of events leading up to this, check out this story:
Back about the mid-late '90's, I had my own house and several really nice guitars at the time. Some friends were over one weekend, and they goaded me into playing the guitar a little, so I finally agreed, even drunkenated as I was at the time (well, I NEVER said I was PERFECT!). One of my buddies had brought along a friend of HIS, whom I'd never met before. When I plugged in one of the LP's and started jamming, this guy started insinuating that it HAD to be a tape or some kind of recording, as nobody (who's not famous or even in a band) could play like that. We all had a laugh and thought he was just joking at first. But NO, the guy was totally serious, and continued to denounce the playing, thinking he'd been "set up" or something for everyone else's amusement as far as I could tell. I was in tears from laughing, and still had trouble believing that this dude was serious, but he so was. After a while of this, I and some of the others (who really wanted to hear me play) started to get very annoyed at the constant berating from this guy. I said "come on over here and touch the strings, see how the amp reacts when YOU hit them", and he did. But, he STILL couldn't believe it and really thought that we were playing some kind of trick on him! I don't think I'll EVER forget that night.
Regardless, I AM really good now, and will prove it if anyone wants. I can record a short video and post it somewhere, or if you live close, come on by and I'll show you in person!
