    Roy,

Your tagline in another message said:

The Uggerumph, the Rettysnitch and the Wouff-Hong can serve again!

IIRC the Wouff-Hong was made from two sticks, 1 long and 1 short, fastened together by wrapping a rag around them, and was used by The Old Man (T.O.M.) to
    torture LIDS (Poor Operators).

No, I wasn't around when the original articles were written in QST! I'm just trying to recall what I read a L-O-N-G time ago about Amateur Radios' early days.

Was the Uggerumph and Rettysnitch just other names for the Wouff-Hong?

I've always tried to be a good LID.

I wasn't around then either, but I've got the Ole Man's biography here in
    my library.

Was the Uggerumph and Rettysnitch just other names for the
    Wouff-Hong?

I copied some of those lines directly out of the Ole Man's biography.
They're actual quotes used by HPM. This was 2 or 3 years ago and I don't recall exactly how it went, but all three were different tools used by
    HPM.

I've always tried to be a good LID.

Me too. It was many years ago that I went through a Wouuf-Hong ceremony
and received a certificate saying I'd passed. I think that makes me a
    lid in good standing.

I hope 'you're' not referring to me. Because I couldn't even complain to the Moderator about 'you' saying that to me here in this echo.

Hmmm, Would QTL mean - Troubled by an LID???????

LOL! Don't take my taglines personally. They're chosen randomly by my
reader. Although I do have a choice in whether I want to switch to a different tag, I rarely pay much attention to what get's posted.

Hmmm, Would QTL mean - Troubled by an LID???????

I don't know, but it'd probably make a good tagline.
