    I know that there is a section in Part 97 of the FCC Rules concerning RF Safety...and that it also is part of the license theory exams.

    I know that for VHF, the threshhold is 50 watts...however, the max power output I have is 45 watts in my shack. Is there a form or something I need to have in my shack, even though I'm below the RF Safety limits??

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Are you transmitting 45 watts directly in your shack or through some sort of external antenna?

    It's through a magmount in the shack. It basically is when my TNC keys up for
    maybe a second or two at a time to transmit packet. I don't use the amplifier (to get the 45 watts) when I'm using voice repeaters. But, at times, packet conditions in this area have been very poor (especially with some nodes down from power outages from the recent ice storms), that I need the extra power to get in.
