• Irex in a seeming endless loop

    why does this happen, I backup my files just in case and it seemed to clear the
    issue.

    here is my rexstart.bat

    del /q c:\rex\sems\rexbusy.0
    net start "internet rex"
    c:\rex\rexw.exe -daemon
    * the rex icon still appears within the system tray

    also

    I backed up the file rexup.0 within the sems directory

    That's a normal event, unless you're seeing this in a continuous screen flashing by...in which case there is a config problem that Rex doesn't
    like.

    Rex uses *.0 files to tell itself that there is activity being processed.

    rexup.0 tells rex not to load a 2nd time because it is already running. rexbusy.0 tells rex to wait for an event to finish before it starts
    another. i.e. you shouldn't be saving or backing up these files anywhere
    that rex can find them.

    PS - what does the /q flag do in a DOS delete command?

    Remover either the "net start" command or the "c:\rex\rexw.exe -daemon" as both
    commands together start two copies of Internet Rex. You only need one.
