unifi have not so well designed gui on unifi controllers to have all ipv6 options done right, so have to wait to enabled it or do the rc.local fix of it

i know the commands just not how to add or where, ssh -l localmanagementuser 192.168.1.1 do work :=)

what i have in mind is to ssh download rc.local

edit it with joe or something :)

    ssh upload the change

    how ?

others have expirence with unifi controler running on linux ?

    Hey Benny!

with 16 pengins at boot ?

Bah! That is child's play. I got 16 4k penguins at boot !

unifi have not so well designed gui on unifi controllers to have
    all ipv6 options done right

I am not a fan of gui apps. So far everything I have working doesn't rely on a gui interface. On the other hand, I am still having issues with the two onboard realteks. :::mutter, mutter, mutter:::

    +1

such things is more easy then get firewalls done right on unifi :)

gui is needed to make managed devices working in unifi, if i just disable managed mode, then there is only ssh left and one is on your own then

he you love gentoo aswell ? :)

and its solved if add more usb ports ? :)

    Hey Benny!

such things is more easy then get firewalls done right on unifi :)

That is true of many things these days ... realtek's r8125 and r8168 being on the top of my 'hit list' at the moment.

if i just disable managed mode, then there is only ssh left and
one is on your own then

Other than a laptop and a tablet, all the wireless connections are ap, not managed. However I am not using anything resembling unifi but I do understand your pain, especially regarding wifi.

For the record all the access points (3) are deploying "148f:3070 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2870/RT3070 Wireless Adapter" chips. Some of the closer neighbours in the right direction can manage to get wireless-n speeds. Mesh is much better and I can double the bandwidth there using 'iw' to configure them. However none of the neighbour's overpriced smart devices are capable of mesh so it is a lost cause given I have no real need for wireless myself.

and its solved if add more usb ports ? :)

Probably. What do you suggest to replace them?

    Life is good,
    Maurice

    check kernel 6.x.x ?

and i think you can get a usb ethernet ?

its not a wifi problem here atleast just that router firmware does not support my isp ipv6 in dhcpv6-pd

should imho be pretty simple and working, but does not

    last yaer :)

today its wifi 6 and 6e

mesh is not allways good, it uses radio signals to manage more trafic, so regulary trafic have less radio bandwidt left to use for good internet trafic, or do i miss something ?

i have lost the name i have, but it will be in phpsysinfo if you still have it :)

    Hey Benny!

    check kernel 6.x.x ?

6.0.0 but not long enough to know if the inhouse driver is working. It looks to be but the issues don't show up until the network(s) have been running for awhile. I lost my boot penguins so I decided to stick with 5.19.x kernels until I figure the 6.x.x kernel out. It is different.

should imho be pretty simple and working, but does not

Yep. Been there, done it ... or not as the case might be. pci modems come to mind.

today its wifi 6 and 6e

So I've heard. I doubt it's any better than what we've got, or at least won't give nearly the coverage. We're about distance as well as speed and wifi 6 can't handle the stability required.

    mesh is not allways good

Who would know? I'm the only one in these parts who can get it working but not with so-called smart devices. If you know better I'd love to hear about it.

it will be in phpsysinfo if you still have it

Huh? I never knew I had it. Mind you the ole grey matter just ain't what she used to be but I am sure I don't have it now. I never did php anything, ever ... that I remember that is.

Anyhow I have one usb gigabit that is realtek. I refuse to replace one bad realtek with another, good or bad. It will have to be some other chipset please, preferably one that plays nicely with whatever kv I choose to run.
