    Nevermind, I'm running an NG1100 and it's not powerful enough for this. If
    I'd known that ahead of time, I would have purchased something beefier..

    You're running out of RAM. ClamAV sucks up a LOT of RAM.

    A Google search for 'clamav "ERROR: Database update process failed: Test failed"' should help you also.

    Yeah, I googled that and didn't have any help. No one suggested it was a RAM issue. My NG1100 only has 1GB, so that was the problem.

    hint: stop clamd before freshclam is issued

    and start clamd again AFTER freshclam

    also possible to disable double buffering on clamd.conf so it does not keep old loaded database while loading the new one

    ConcurrentDatabaseReload = no

    if its yes, then clamd can use the old loaded db while loading new db

    clamconf | grep -i reload

    Saved, thanks. I have experimented using clamav scanning uploaded files in real-time with MBSE but it's slow. Incredibly so. This might speed it up.

    I would not hold your breath on that.
    I did try last year or so to get it in auto mode as per the manual but without any success. Seem to recall it did work up to around 2022.

    Please let me know if speed is improved .

    It worked last year for me using the manual without issues, however, it was awfully slow.

    Please let me know if speed is improved .

    I removed it since I don't get files from non-trusted sources. If I set it up again, I'll let you know.
