• Crashmail and Netmail

From Darryl Perry to All on Thursday, October 11, 2012 16:15:08
I'm trying to set up crashmail II 0.71 on linux. I'm using Mystic as my BBS.
I am having trouble setting up CM to properly export netmail. I have 3 different NETMAIL statements for my 3 different AKA's. Each points to a different JAM message base.

When I do a scan, CM *says* it finds and exports the netmail. But it appears that no email packets get created. I have also set up echo areas, and they seem to get exported just fine. Netmail is my only problem.

I'm hoping this issue sounds familiar to somebody and they will know what to do.

I can post the prefs file if needed.

Is this on a 32 or a 64 bit system?

    32 bit.

I've done some testing and find that I'm seeing the same thing with 0.71 (I mostly use Crashmail for point systems, and then usually just echomail, so I hadn't noticed the possible issue...), but not with v0.61 (I'm using a Debian v3 VM to test Internet Rex, and that's the version of Crashmail on it...)

May try an rebuild of it for the system I'm using (wheezy), perhaps create a crashmail-dbg package...

    32 bit.

I'd wondered, because I've suspected issues with it on 64 bit systems, but I don't use it enough there to be sure...

Just so I don't keep everybody on pins and needles...

I found that commenting out or taking out the NOROUTE command had fixed the problem. I'll leave it to the experts to tell me why it worked.

I didn't check how I was using that keyword because I thought it was only relevant for inbound netmail...

    Indeed...<g>
