• TEOS under DOSEMU

From Steve Helferich@1:311/2 to All on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 19:37:00
    Hey all,

Does anyone have Planets: TEOS working under DOSEMU?

I've got it running but shortly thereafter it crashes with either runtime
    error 5 or 103.

    5 is file access denied
    103 is file not open

Doesn't seem to matter if I'm playing it locally or on the BBS.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Works fine for me. What version are you using?

    Hi Mike,

I/we figured it out, it was a problem with the permissions. DOSEMU only had read access to the .dat files so when it tried to make changes it failed.

    Thanks!

Good to hear. IIRC there is a patch so that the ANSI doesn't draw at the speed of a 2400 baud modem too. I can't seem to find it anymore, though.

sounds like the door is doing character by character output instead of buffered
output... they can be quite painful in highspeed connection situations...

I haven't noticed the speed issue but I have seen a few times where it seems
to get "stuck" on the bottom of the screen and instead of scrolling, it displays an entire screen of information all on one line. Just overwriting itself over and over on the one line. I assume its a problem with the ansi driver or something but I haven't had the time to dig into it.
