From Dave Vandermeer@1:229/275 to All on Thursday, February 14, 2019 09:58:17
Hey folks.. was just interested to know how many people are running
MagickaBBS? .. I've been playing around with it more and more and I think Andrew has done a pretty wicked job so far with the software.. I'm
starting to like it more and more each day I work on it lol ..

Can anyone suggest any good reading material on LUA scripting? I have so
many ideas in my head but lack of programming knowledge is holding me
    back.

I didn't fully leave. I just downsized to a small handful of echo's that
I actually read .. I have a different setup here now .. I am gearing
towards a web based interface with MagickaBBS for FTN. I'm pretty sure I
can resume your feed once I am fully setup.

I run it on one of my systems. Love Magicka, it's great software. Andrew's done a fantastic job. Also good to see the amount of BBS related software under development these days in general. Only problem I have is there's too many good packages to choose from! :D

Yea.. I like the fact that you can do on-the fly mods by using the LUA
scripts in place of the built-in strings.. only have to mod 1 file and
relogin to see the new changes.. I've gotten a bit of modding done so far
but still so far to go

Ok.. once I have you setup I'll try crashmailing you .. I think we were
using the same passwords for your fido as we do for amiganet .. I think
all I have to do is add you to MagiMail's config with allow passthru so u
    can request from my uplink

That is cool, but most of the other software still in development has been
able to do that for decades so its not like a ground breaking feature :)

Yea :) I'm just referring to the fact that it's all text-file based configurations .. the way things should be :) Mystic rocks .. but there
can be more than one :)

Yeah this has nothing to do with Mystic so I don't know where thats coming from.

I'm just saying that the things you're going on about are things that
many other BBSes have done for decades. :)

I haven't gone down that road of scripting yet, but sounds like it's well implemented.

... You're actually going to do something. Can I watch?
