Donald, have you again had to change your main address? This one's
    coming up no such address!

I have a friend(putting his BBS back up) who is looking for LORDNet, & Ithought you might be the person to ask where it is & how to get it. . .

    Can you help?

    Because I care,

LordNet is download-able from this URL, and several others. http://www.nightfallgames.com/files/Igms/y2kpatch.zip - This is the only current version there is, that I know of. Its the Y2K update.

Jay Hodges is working on a full rewrite of LordNet, but has not told me if he has anything that people can beta test yet. That work is being done by Jay for
Michael Preslar, who owns all of the Lord programs that were created by Joseph Masters.

The previous LordNet archive, which was v1.40N, was the last one released by Joseph Masters. People can download it using this URL. Be aware that it has RTE200 in all of its EXE files, which is why you are supposed to use the y2kpatch.zip archive. But you need this one for the documentation files for Lordnet, so get both of the archive files. http://www.nightfallgames.com/files/Igms/Old-IGMs/lnet14n.zip

Now, about the email address situation for me: OK, occasionally the Fidotel BBS
computer systems go wonky on Shannon Talley, and that fidotel.com email account
stops working. It usually happens at least once a month to me, so I'm used to it. To reach me, all people have to remember is that I have four email addresses. If one does not work, then try a different one.

donald.tidmore@fidotel.com - I had to have this one created when Shannon set up
the LordNews List and later the LADYSCRIPTS List in the past few years. Its reliability comes and goes.

donald.tidmore@usa.net. This one is permanent. I have to pay around 40 bucks a
year for it, but it gives me a 100 Megabytes of email storage. Its mostly used for waterfalls discussion and other mailing lists that I get, and a bunch of newsletters.

gtidmore@hiwaay.net - I use this every day for LORD email and so on. I have two
ISP accounts. The Hiwaay one, which serves the North Alabama region of the United States, I only use for email.

ktidmore@bellsouth.net - this is used by myself and my parents. Its checked for mail every day, unless I'm sick and can't use computer. Which happens occasionally when my eyes go bonkers because of allergies.

Hope that answers both questions. Donald.

Some Lord news updates while I am thinking of it. 1) No luck so far in getting Socrates Shop source code from John Hutton who either has misplaced it or has lost it. Doug Rhea is handling that inquiry.

    2) I've located George Batalias, who wrote Free World. All of his bbs computers are in storage with a friend, and George is checking with the friend to see if he can get the source code for FW igm to me. Assuming that happens, since igm is in QuickBasic, I would turn the DOS igm over to Marty Blankenship.
And use the original igm's code to further develop the FreeWorld II program that Chris Martino started creation of, before he vanished on everyone back in late May.

    3) For those who don't know, you can forget about ever having support for any Lord igms by Joshua Eckerman. He sent the ONLY floppy disk media containing his files via US Postal mail back in June. The mail got lost. So those igms are DEAD. Reminder: NEVER TRUST the US Post Office with anything important. Federal Express is much more trustworthy. And yes that is my OPINION. Its STUPID incidentally to ever send programs to someone and not keep backups of what you send, in case situations like that happen. And they DO and WILL happen to you eventually.

    4) Doug Rhea is working on finding Becky Benjamin but has not heard from her to
date. He's back in the hunt for old BBS authors now, so if you want him to find something, let him know. He can be reached at his web-site bbsfiles.com or using email address <support@bbsfiles.com>.

    5) All attempts to date to get bbs/lord programs from Ahkenaton and Jay Cochrane continue to be total failures. Neither guy apparently gives a hoot that their programs have rte200 and are DEAD, unsupported programs as a result.

    End of summary. Donald
