MBSE works with many distributions. I personally use it with Slackware, as did Michiel Broek, the original author of MBSE.

I recomment any flavor/variant of Debian/uBuntu .. specific instructions are giving to install packages for said distros. It will compile on any linux distro but dependency names are not the same as in the given instructions

The original author of MBSE, Michiel Broek, developed it under Slackware Linux. I, as the current primary maintainer, also do most of my work on it under Slackware. I do make an effort to diagnose and fix installation issues under any distribution available to me. I recently fixed a SETUP.sh issue under Ubuntu 12.04+, caused by the maintainers of that distro no longer creating an admin group on new installs. I'm currently researching a reported issue installing on CentOS 7, which I suspect is caused by missing dependencies.

Any issues anyone encounters with installation of MBSE should be reported here or via netmail/email, with as much information as possible regarding the distribution in use, version used, etc. The SETUP.log that SETUP.sh creates is an excellent resource on what took place and what errors occurred. If at all possible, the SETUP.log should be included in the bug report message, or attached to the netmail/email bug report.

    Regards,

    Andrew
