• FD/2 and Max/2

The problem I have is that when passing the com port to Max/2 in EXEBBS.CMD, Max returns with a message say that it cannot load the comm driver. When I pass al lthe contents of the % variables to a log file, I get the following:

    {0}[c:\ftn\fd] type fd.out
    Speed: 57600
    Port: 1
    Event Time: 10080
    Task #: 1
    Connection Msg: /ARQ/TEL_FROM_127.0.0.1
    CID: N/A
    Port Handle: 12

I pass the port number as well as the speed and handles to Maximus/2 but it still doesn't accept the connection and I get the following error message is the logs for this particular node:

    {0}[c:\ftn\fd] type \max\Max.Log

    + 06 Sep 23:51:53 MAX Begin, v3.01 (task=1)
    ! 06 Sep 23:51:53 MAX SYS0032: Cannot open com port (com1)
! 06 Sep 23:51:53 MAX Communications driver not properly installed

However, whenever I run Maximus/2 in WFC mode, I do not get the above error message.

Do you have the port-sharing parameter added to your SIO command line in CONFIG.SYS?

    ie:

    DEVICE=C:\SIO\SIO.SYS (COM1,3F8,IRQ4,-) (COM2,2F3,IRQ3,-) (COM3,INTERNET:3E8,NONE:IRQ4,-) (COM4,INTERNET:2E8,NONE:IRQ3,-)

This is for a standard COM1 and COM2, and virtual COM3 and COM4. The dash (-) parameter enables sharing the port between applications.

I use SIO2k. But, it turned out that I was passing the parameters to MAXP.EXE incorrectly in my EXEBBS.CMD REXX script. All is well now. It's a little laggy, but it still works at least.

Was this an old message? I am actually using SIO2k and JoHo actually
helped me get it working a while back. :)
