I recently found my little MP3 player that uses SD cards for
storage. So, I pulled out the SD card and stuck it into my
computer (it has a multi-format card reader built-in) and now I'm
noticing pops in all of the MP3s that are on there. Some are
quite loud, some are not.
I've never run into this phenomenon before and I was wondering if
any of you have...and if so, how did you fix it?
If you copy the MP3s to your Hard drive first do you still hear
the pops?
and it does a pretty good job of getting rid of pops' and clicks
from any MP3's I've made from old records or even cleaning tape
hiss from old cassettes.
If the above doesn't help, then copy them to the HDD and try running
a filter on them that will remove pops and clicks, I use Wavelab which I bought a number of years ago (In your case probably cheaper to just
buy the MP3's from a service then to buy wavelab) and it does a pretty
good job of getting rid of pops' and clicks from any MP3's I've made from
old records or even cleaning tape hiss from old cassettes.
