Hi all!
I was wondering if there was a way to download a QWK and upload a REP packet from the localqwk directory from the mystic/mystic.exe command
line without having to log into the system?

QWKPOLL does it for Networked QWK packets, but for a BBS user you could try something like this and see how it works for you:
mystic -uusername -ppassword "-xmenucmd OD"
^^ This would log you in as that user and run the download QWK packet function and then logout. Then to upload you could do:
mystic -uusername -ppassword "-xmenucmd OU"

Yes. But the BBS must be running FTP from MIS. All you have to do is
use FTP and log in with your BBS ID. The get the qwk file. Do the reverse to upload the rep file.

Um, maybe to speed things up when downloading my own QWK packets and
using an offline mail reader to read and reply offline on the same
machine the BBS runs on as I am doing now perhaps?

Cuz, GoldEd is cool... Mystic has JAM as a message base... golded reads that just fine... no need to logon or off...

Really, I'm a tester and am waiting for the actual Alpha release before
I install it here. Of course, I do actual production testing myself :-) Note G00R00's Alphas are closer to a Beta in the real world {chuckle}, though FWIW, as a PRE-Alpha you're getting an actual/true Alpha install

People can install it if they want, just know that some of these daily builds have been pretty problematic in the past week or two. Lots of changes going on behind the scenes...

The address was already made public by g00r00 so I do not see the issue.

Oh OK... I was not aware it had been here. All good.
Just reflecting on this further. I think the point both Nick and I
were attempting to make was that the address had not been made public
in this echo. I agree a number (yourself included) are well aware of
it but the existence of it was never shared here but in an othernet.
In any regard it's all good as g00r00 has commented he's relaxed about
it but my initial thought when I saw your original post was similar to Nicks.. should this be disclosed by someone other than the author? I
tend to defer to the author to share such things as/when he wants to
in case there may have been concerns over version controls etc.
Was it that easy to get my point? Oh wait, you had the same one. ;)
