• LineBreak in Subject ECHOMAIL

From Vitus Zeel@2:240/8001 to All on Sunday, January 14, 2018 15:56:38
    hi,

today i spend 2 hrs to figure out why one special msg from an MBSE systems can't correct replyed to the BlackICE BBS.

    here is the thing:

my user datix posted a text into the BBSnet \ BlackICEbbs ECHO. he copy and pasted the bodytext (what is no problem and worked fine for month now) but he also pasted into the subject field a textline from a website. this testline contains a LINEBREAK. no deal for mystic. mystic doesn't show the linebreak
but send this mail WITH linebreak to an mbse system.

every time MSBE would create an reply message to this special message there
was only the .pkt header and nothing else in the outbound dir.

the problem was the linebreak. after that linebreak MBSE couldn't attach any further data to the .pkt.

nearly the same happen in an syncronet board. but here's the error handling a bit better. synchronet abort the process and throw the user back into the
echo and didn't say he had send the mail.

anyway that's look like an fail of MBSE and not mystic. yes... maybe! BUT i don't know how are the specs exactly for echomails are. it can be that a linebreak ends the part of the message-header for the subject. i dunno so i report here. the other reason is, g00r00 is very active in devloping mystic
all other are a bit more lazy :D

so it would be nice to check this subject - linebreak thing.

if needed the MBSE and Syncronet SysOp is reachable here: Niels Haedecke @ 2:240/8002 | lodger @ 75:49/1
