• Filefix self serve

From Richard Fairman@3:770/3 to All on Sunday, November 03, 2019 06:06:50
Hi is there a filefix self serve command I can use to get my file nodes to resend files to me
I tried %REFRESH but I got the error message back not recognised

    I assume it's just a Areafix command
    Thanks

Most Filefix software doesn't support that. Mystic's filefix doesn't at
this time. It may in the future, we did talk about it so I think it's
    somewhere on the todo list.

Htick has a resend command you can use to get a file in a file area that
    you missed, something like..

    %resend filename.zip filearea

Allfix has a similar feature but the syntax may be slightly different.
Those are the only two filefix's that support resending files that I know
    of.

    Thanks for that
How can I get existing files from the online file bases into my own file base without having to wait until a node is ready to send new files

    Regards

You can't. When a node hatches a file it will be sent out to all nodes connected to the area. That's the way file echoes work. There is no
option to rescan files. In a few cases there is the option to "%resend" a
file but those are the exception.

If you are connected to any file areas you will get new hatches.

You can import any files you'd like but you'll have to get them
somewhere. telnet, web and ftp are all your friends in that case.
