There are ways to import areas but generally speaking its probably still faster to just create them. For a new network that is QWK-based I usually just create one base with the proper security I want, then copy/paste it/change the name/ID/storage name in the copied base.

Takes a handful of minutes total to create every base needed for something like DoveNet, so either way its not really much of a time investment.

If Synchronet exports an areas.bbs file would you be able to import into Mystic? That would be faster and easier.

That will get a lot of the info in, but you will still need to tweak a few things. I have done this and it did save a bit of time.

FIDOBONE.NA is the typical format used for defining a network's areas for import (at least on the FTN side) and Mystic will import that using MUTIL.

g00r00 is right. That’s how I add all my areas where there is a NA. I have even created them for other nets.

Sure for fidonet. Then change the areas to QWK.

Yes its just a text file that lists the areas in a network, so it can be used for anything.

I made the transition from 64Bit to 32Bit. I would like to run DOS doors
local to the BBS without having game servers. Not a big deal..

What I did do is installed a 32Bit version on a VM, Windows 10, and then proceeded to copy over my old 64Bit data files... using the upgrade document
as my guide... and it's worked... FOR THE MOST PART.

QWK mail stopped working. I'm on DoveNET and mail and its stopped since the change over. I asked DM if there is an issue on his side. He sent me a log file showing the qwk file getting downloaded but it's not importing the messages.

I've checked and rechecked the setup... I just don't know what's up!!!

    Thanx

This is a very old version very early in the A47 cycle when there is most chance for issues. I would suggest upgrading to something newer as there were some changes to QWKPOLL (I can't remember why exactly though sorry).

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Apparently I accicdentally toggled this echo out of my netscan settings so I missed the past handful of messages. Just getting caught up now and I got another network that has 40+ messages I missed :\

You would have to confirm your DoveNet settings with Rob, but one thing I can tell is wrong is that you have it setup as a HUB. You are not the DoveNet Hub so you should set Member Type to Node.
