• 24hr time format and active protocol

    From Marco R@2:280/2030 to G00R00 on Sunday, January 16, 2022 14:15:27
    Hello G00R00,

I have two requests concerning display codes:

    1. display code to show the current time in 24 hour format (hh:mm).
    2. display the currently active download/upload protocol.

    Gtx!
    sPi

Thanks for the suggestion! I will add two new codes for you in the next A48 build:

TM - Displays current time in HH:MM 24-hour format
TS - Displays current time in HH:MM:SS 24-hour format

    2. display the currently active download/upload protocol.

The DP MCI code should show the user's default protocol name (or a blank value if one is not selected). It looks like this code was missed on the Wiki so I will get that updated.

... Enter any 12-digit prime number to continue.

Thanks! Added the display of that in my Account Settings menu now. =)

Speaking of this, is it possible for a user to de-select the protocol selection somehow (to force Mystic to ask every time)?

If I recall correctly, only the SysOp can do this from the User Editor (by emptying the Protocol field there) after a user has made his/her selection?

Something along the lines of allowing a protocol with a space as the key in the protocol editor, but which isn't actually used for transfers. =)

Or some option for this in prompt #62. =)

    Best regards
    Björn

Good point I don't think you can do that. Maybe what I can do is add in the "ESCAPE" key to reset it to nothing. And then maybe I can add a new prompt for selecting default protocol.

I'll add this to the list. If I don't add it in the next couple of A48 builds please remind me :)

I just tried this and it appears that in my A48, [Q/Quit]ting the protocol selection actually *does* clear the protocol field. So it appears that it is already there.

Sorry for the confusion (it was a while since I tested this last time)... :o)

    Best regards

Ahh okay thanks for following up on this. It seems I didn't remember how it worked either so no worries! :)

    Hi g00r00,

Thanks for the 24hr format and the 'undocumented' DP code - very cool!

Last weekend I was playing a bit with the trashcan file and noticed that an unwanted username is accepted. So when you enter a name that is part of the trashcan file the system warns you that it is a not so nice name, but the system continues after that message with the next question.

    Gtx!

... 24 hours in a day and 24 beers in a case. Hmmmm...

Yes that is not good. I just fixed this up.

    Thank you!
