From Digital Man to All on Monday, October 17, 2011 04:17:38
Last Saturday night / early Sunday morning, the hard disk in my Debian/Linux server (an ST31500341AS) started giving up the ghost. I was able to save all the drive data *except* the Synchronet data/user directory, where I had to restore from a backup from Saturday morning. If you created an account on Saturday and it's now not here, or your message pointers were messed up, I apologize, and I *think* everything should be back to normal now with a new drive (a WD Black Cavier 1TB), but with a newer Debian install.

Anyway, I'm exhausted and apologize for any inconvenience. This had to happen in the middle of "the great SpiderMonkey/JavaScript-C upgrade of 2011" as well, so things have been chaotic in Synchronet land the past week.
