Does anyone still use a DOS based BBS under os/2
and launch os/2 native doors?
I've totally forgot the trick to getting hstart working to launch
the cinet telnet door.
I've been running windows far too long. ;)
i've never done that... but i do launch os2 tasks from the dos side
and visa versa...

Yeah I'm okay doing that, just not the doors. I know it can be
done as I've done it myself 20+ years ago. ;)

Laugh
does it need the com port or the com handle? there's a big
difference... i'm not sure how to pass the handle... what bbs
software are you using?

Laughi was hoping the reference would work ;)

Using a DOS based BBS ezycom. According to the hstart docs if I
pass the com port it will somehow deal with it. I know there's a
trick I just can't rememebr it Mark. I'm sure Sean Dennis will
chime in when he see's this as I /know/ both he and I had this
working when we ran Telegard before the OS/2 port.

Enough for a laugh anyway. ;)
even though i (still) run the DOS version of RA, i've never attepted
to run any OS/2 native doors from it...
you have me wondering if the oblique reference to *anonymous meeting introductions was actually seen as that... :/
Got it. ;) Once I got rid of the OS/2 based mailer and just had
Ezycom answer the "phone" the comport was able to share. So
working fine now. Just thought I'd let you know.

Well you should have done it 20 years ago with me so you still
had the settings. ;)

In my warped mind... If I was at an AA meeting I would end up
laughing at the "Hi Shawn" part. But I find any form of therapy to
be funny.
about the os/2 mailer being in the way... i use both FD/2 and FD but
have never done the os/2 door thing as noted previously...
interesting find... you've written it down for when you need it in
another 20 years, right? ;)

Just going to keep the OS/2 VM this time. :) I'm playing around
with moving the BBS back to a straight Ezycom setup under OS/2.
Figure why not? XP is stable, but I'm bored. hahaha

ahhh! perhaps you need to use the '-' in your comport definition line
in config.sys?
DEVICE=X:\SIO160D\SIO.SYS (COM1,3F8,4,-) (COM2:115200,2F8,3,-) (COM3,INTERNET:3E8,NONE:4,-) (COM4,INTERNET:2E8,NONE:3,-) (COM5,INTERNET:1F8,NONE:3,-) (COM6,INTERNET:1E8,NONE:3,-) (COM7,INTERNET:4F8,NONE:3,-) (COM8,INTERNET:4E8,NONE:3,-)
Thanks for this! I was looking for this very same piece of
information :) Now to just find SIO 1.60d ;)

This information is in SIO's documentation and I do have SIO 1.60d on
the board for download. I also have the crack Ray told me to use to register SIO too.
