Hello everybody!

Does anyone still use a DOS based BBS under os/2 and launch os/2 native doors?
I've totally forgot the trick to getting hstart working to launch the cinet telnet
door.

I've been running windows far too long. ;)

i've never done that... but i do launch os2 tasks from the dos side and visa versa...

/WIN - start a windowed session
/F - start session in the foreground

/B - start session in the background
(This is default when /PM, /FS, /DOS and /WIN are not specified)
/MAX - starts session maximized (if windowed)
/MIN - starts session minimized (if windowed)
/C - start via command processor. Terminate it when ready
/K - start via command processor. Keep it when ready
(This is the default for non-PM programs)
/N - start program directly (bypass command processor)

Using a DOS based BBS ezycom. According to the hstart docs if I pass
the com port it will somehow deal with it. I know there's a trick I just
can't rememebr it Mark. I'm sure Sean Dennis will chime in when he see's
this as I /know/ both he and I had this working when we ran Telegard before
the OS/2 port.

Well you should have done it 20 years ago with me so you still had
the settings. ;)

In my warped mind... If I was at an AA meeting I would end up laughing
at the "Hi Shawn" part. But I find any form of therapy to be funny.

ahhh! perhaps you need to use the '-' in your comport definition line in config.sys?

This setting does not apply to a second DOS session attempting to

never allowed to access the same port at the same time.
Additionally, this setting has no affect upon the access to a
communications port which is first opened by an OS/2 session.


the last part of the last paragraph seems to say that you are correct about the
os/2 mailer being in the way... i use both FD/2 and FD but have never done the os/2 door thing as noted previously...

Just going to keep the OS/2 VM this time. :) I'm playing around with
moving the BBS back to a straight Ezycom setup under OS/2. Figure why
not? XP is stable, but I'm bored. hahaha
