Recently been playing with my ECS machine again. I've got
shared drives working 1/2 way, I can from OS2 see my WinXP
machine, and /sometimes/(I can't figure out the pattern) it can
see my Windows 8 machine as well.

I'm looking for the magic so the OS2 box can see my Win8 machine all
the time, and for win8 to see the os/2 box.
I'm willing to start 100% over following any ideas you guys give me, I've tried various versions of samba from the net, as well as the
internal MPT stuff.
screwed around with the code that handles CIFS/SAMBA file sharing yet
once again, but don't quote me on that.

At least I'm not alone. I feel much better now. ;) If you ever
figure it out please let me know. :)
Well, I _was_ able to get it to connect to the Windows Server 2008 R2
file server this afternoon to get some files off of it onto this ECS
2.2b2 VM without any issues :)

Yeah, I am having some issues getting it to talk properly with my
Server 2008 (non-R2) file server for some reason. It connects, but
that's about it.
Using samba, I can connect to my windows 8 server MANUALLY. I can't
get the process automated but... it's working and I'm able to change
a few things around in batch files to make it work. ie: f: should be
a share on my Win8 box but it's not F:\C\ so I can deal. Biggest
issue is on rebooitng the VM I have to manually launch the samba GUI
and mount the share.
Yeah, I have not figured out how to mount SMB/CIFS shares yet from the
ECS command line or even if it is possible, as I just use the GUI that
it comes with.
