On bootup, OS/2 v 4.52 traps in the kernel. I reboot several times and eventually it comes up. The ERRCD can be 0000, 0002, 0003 or 0004.

Apparently CNTRL.EXE is involved in this as sometimes that will crash
    before OS/2 traps.

    Anybody have any ideas

the first thing i would do would be to test the memory with memtest86+... make sure you use the one with the '+'... let it run several full loops... if that comes out OK, then reseating the cards and pushing on any socketed chips to be sure they are all the way in... i might also consider to use the HD manufacturer's non-destructive drive test to make sure there's nothing wrong with the drive... somewhere in there, the power supply should also be considered... it doesn't take too much of a voltage problem on one of the rails
    to cause weird problems...
