Today I heard from a lady that's a close friend of Mike's and actually
got to speak with him for a few minutes. It turns out that Mike has
been ill since 2015 though he never let on to it. He ended up having
a stroke in October of 2018 and is now in a nursing home in
Madisonville, Texas. After an extended conversation with his lady
friend, it really doesn't sound all that good for him. It seems
doubtful to me that he will live too much longer; it appears that
dementia is setting in, probably exacerbated by the stroke.

I'm really sorry to hear that. My maternal grandmother passed away
last August (due to pneumonia complications) and she had dementia
setting in.
I don't know if he wants to hear from us but if there's a way to
contact him, I'd like to be able to say hello. He helped me a lot
in the late 90s and early 2000s with OS/2 and he was a real
fountainhead of knowledge for me. You can contact me via netmail
or email at sysop@outpostbbs.net.
Sean, I will check with his friend and see if he is still able to or
wants to use his laptop. If he is I will forward your e-mail address
to her. I'll try and keep you apprised as to what's going on with
him.

BTW, what happened to my query about ArcaOS and eCS comparison when
you wrote that you contemplated change over from eCS?
