• Arca DOS video issues...

From Don Lowery@1:340/1000 to All on Sunday, July 19, 2020 12:55:51
Believe I have found a work around which works for me. Had to reinstall Arca the other night. Rather than using Panorama or the other "high performance" video driver...ended up using the normal GRADD video driver. Heading over to the Arca website...did the suggestion to the end of the statement in the CONFIG.SYS & the mode statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT.

Works in both Virtual PC & on bare metal for DOS & Win-311 windows.

Sounds good. OS/2 can be weird about drivers like that. I've found on
most modern cards that SNAP works well enough and supports odd
    resolutions.

I finally put arca on esxi server instead of running it on its own hardware and now it runs perfectly without issue... windows full screen whatever... I havent tried it with any other VM but its perfect on esxi

Had tried it with all 3 sets of drivers. Sat here & started thinking that In can't get it working in SNAP/Panorama that let's try it with the standard driver. Putting the switch on the end of the line & the mode setting in the Autoexec.bat does work for me. Have a feeling that if you or someone else
tried this...may not work...especially with the bare metal setup I have with
1 of these used retail Lenovo units.

That's good to know. I haven't worked with ESXI much.

Yeah, I did that, too, but under VirtualBox. I just followed the README file for VirtualBox OS/2 additions with walk you through the setup for that step by step. Easy peasy :)

Using the VB video driver (which Arca has included with the build)...had no problem at all in VB. Did the same thing with the standard driver & it worked.

    Which version of ArcaOS?

5.0.5...the newest version. With this being the case...will have to see if VMWare has the same additions installed as well.
