    Hi guys,

Moving my system over to ECS away from XP & pretty much most of the way
there. However, I still need to find a replacement for Radius (that I use as
my mailer). Apart from BinkD are there any other packages that would suit
the job ? Ultimately, something like Argus/Radius would be the best option,
but not sure if such a beast exists in the OS/2 world.

    cheers,

    Lance

There's always BinkleyTerm. I've been running it pretty much constantly since 1996 and haven't had any problems with it. If you need help, just holler. ;)

Right off the top of my head you might want to try Binkley/2 I think Front Door
comes in an OS/2 flavour, Intermail/2, and if you feel adventurous AdeptXBBS.

Adept has Internet stuff built in to it and is written specifically for OS/2.

    File_Id.Diz for Adept:

    AdeptXBBS Version 1.11y Full Install
    ------------------------------------
    32-bit, Multi-Threaded GUI, NNTP,
    SMTP, POP3, Telnet, Sockets, FTP,
    Integrated Mailer, REXX, Utils,
    multiple language, XMsg, *.Msg,
    Squish and JAM msg bases,
    localized date/time display and
    a lot more!

    Very customizable for almost any
    BBSing needs.

GUI (PM) BBS for OS/2. FREEWare/2
    24 Node Version
    ------------------------------------

All you need to do with this is ensure that SIO is configured properly and a way you go. If you decide to use this one we can help you in the ADEPT_SYSOP Echo.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

We are a fine board trying to make it better.

You might want to look at Irex.

    File_Id.Diz:
    Internet Rex 2.25 for OS/2
    -------------------------------------
A program for sending your BBS mail
over the net. Supports email, FTP,
    MIME, UUencoding, XXencoding, GIGO,
    Watergate, TransX, Allfix, FrontDoor,
    Binkley, D'Bridge and more. Packed
    with features.

It is fairly easy to setup as well.

I'm planning on staying with EleBBS - that was a fairly simple copy
everything over & replace the Win32 exes with the OS/2 one - nice & easy! Already tested out fine, Ele's telnet & news server works fine - I'll pick
up BinkD & give it a shot - geez I hate changing platforms - & considering
    that it's been about 5 years since I last used OS/2 - I'm also a little
rusty :-) Still it'll be nice to get away from the crash-prone XP !

    cheers,

    Lance

radius is written in delphi... if there is a delphi compatible compiler for OS/2, then it may be possible to port it over...

Delphi doesn't do OS/2, unfortunately.... but maybe you could port it via Free Sybil or something?

right, that's why i stated "delphi compatible compiler" ;)

i don't know what is delphi compatible any more... it might be interesting to see a kylix version operating under XFree86 OB-)

Eh, or have it ported using Everblue.

It's not the first time they've heard that and truthfully, I don't have a BBS running right now... I'm really mail-only, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve
    in the works!
