I didn't see the msg from JdeBP mentioned in some other post (George
White 27-Oct-00 OS2 echo). The last msg I saw from George White in this
echo was on 21-Aug-00. I think George White and JdeBP are on the
same BBS of Vince Coen. So the problem is probably not very far from
    there.

And the fact that I got the reply I'm responding to in OS2PROG when
the original thread was in OS2 suggests there is a configuration
problem somewhere. Either at your end or with Mike Luther.

Yes, I spotted it as just after the msg went out.

    I see no
problems with everything else going through Southern Star so I don't expect the problem to be there. I take it you're telenetting to Mike

Actually, I have a permanent link at the moment and am looking at options for using FidoNet over TCP/IP. I have a VMODEM link to Mike and a BinkD link to OS2NET. I'll probably drop VMODEM as soon as I can find someone in Zone 2 who will give me a BinkD link. Does anyone in the UK use BinkD?

    - its still only (discounting the two stops at Mikes BBS and the two
at Johns) effectively four hops (+ the point access) from you to me
    even with the transatlantic crossings.

Why is UK a requirement? ;-) I have binkp uplinks and downlinks already... all across zone 1 so far, but I don't see a big deal if it jumps to zone 2 as well...

If you are configuring Binkley then this discussion really belongs in OS2BBS, rather than OS2PROG.

Yes, I heard about the misconfigurations. Strange thing to do.

I do now have about 6200 msgs in this echo and I just don't want to loose the feed.
