From Mike Luther@1:117/100 to All on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 14:52:04
Can anyone here give me a Newsgroup Server that can replace my old normal IP Suddenlink Newgroup Server support that held all my OS/2 Newsgroup work? A while back Suddenlink gave up all their Newsgroup Support as part of their IP service! I have no trouble using their connections to the Mozilla/Seamonkey groups and so on. But I badly need to get back to OS/2 Programming and other OS/2 groups that are totally missing to me now.

Yes, I realize there are a ton of new server 'folks' out there. But I'd like to know what anyone else knows and thinks about various server operations that are 'secure' and so on.

    Thanks!

Mike Luther as N117C here in College Station, Tx.

is this why there was a post from you in Z1C that originated in OS2HW and was cross-posted? i was wondering because i haven't seen any traffic in the OS2HW echo in a while... only my (now) monthly rules postings...

can you provide a list of those OS/2 related echos, please? you have me curious...

my ISP (still) offers news but they sublet it from someone else with a full feed... i don't recall who that other party is, though... are you looking for this for your own personal use or as a feed for your BBS? if personal use, you might try Eternal September... i hear they have some pretty good offerings... i've never used their services, though...

I poll using a commercial usenet server and toss the messages into my
BBS where you can read and write to them via the BBS' web interface,
telnet or NNTP using your favorite newsreader, such as I am doing now.
Fidonet echos (as well as echos from other networks) are available on
    the same server as well.
