• NeoRetroNet?

From Mike Powell@1:2320/105 to ALL on Friday, November 11, 2022 14:52:00
The other day I saw a BBS ad that referenced NeoRetroNet.

Is this a relaunch of RetroNet? Where does one find information for it?

    Thanks!
    Mike

Why not log onto the BBS and ask?

I'm interested in joining an FTN with a similar focus. If you find more information about NeoRetroNet or if RetroNet is still alive somewhere, please share.

    Thanks!

Most othernets are dead. Most posts in Retronet are BBS ads or people
posting in the test echo to see if the net still exists because there's
    no traffic.

RetroNet is still here. It just needs to be used. Used more then tests and ads of course.

How can I apply for a node id? The BBS where the application says to go is down.

Well, isn't the fact that it's not being used ... the very definition of
    a "dead network"?

I'd go so far as to say the *ONLY* othernets that aren't effectively
dead are FSXnet, DoveNet, and MicroNet... and MicroNet is on life
    support.

I think RetroNet's server was down. Although I think it is now back up. Just seen ads for both RetroNet and CommodoreNet. He controls both those.
