• Attack on Russia

From Aaron Thomas@1:342/201 to All on Wednesday, August 07, 2024 12:56:10
The mainstream media has reported that Ukraine has launched an attack on Russian soil, in the Russian town of Sudzha, in the Kursk region of Russia, resulting in injuries to 24 people.

So in case I was "so wrong" before, I can now accurately say that the USA, under Biden-Harris's administration, has funded an attack on Russia. No longer can the whiners say "no, we're funding Ukraine to defend itself."

Wrong. The USA is not at war with Russia and is not funding any attack.

Ukraine is defending itself from a Russian invasion.

No longer can the whiners say "no, we're funding Ukraine to defend itself."

No, Ukraine is defending itself from an invasion force. As we have known for years now.

Good point! If the government started telling us that they were going to spend billions to feed the homeless, most of us would probably be happy about that. But getting most of us to be happy about needless wars is not working!

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

Russia now needs to pull back from Ukraine (a place they should not be in the first place) to try and defend the area that Ukraine has captured. That could tip the scales in some of the Ukrainian territories to allow Ukraine to take back what is rightfully theirs.

Anyone who has played RISK at least once in their lives should know this is a common strategy.

The Elitists like wars. It keeps people distracted from what they are doing.

In this case, though, this might be their excuse to suspend elections. "It's a war!"

If Russia were to directly attack Americans, Article 5 of NATO would apply.

FDR announced to a joint session of Congress that a state of war

And then all Japanese and Japanese Americans in Hawaii were given

No, Ukraine is an American asset. Biden is the one who was ok with it while Russia amassed troops along the Ukraine border for months and months and did nothing about it.

Nobody should be killing anyone. This all could and should have been avoided, but the opportunity to squander money was knocking, and Biden seized the opportunity.

If Ukraine attacked Russia unprovoked, I doubt we'd be defending their
    actions.

However, that is not what happened. Russia started occupying areas of
Ukraine several years ago. In the last four years, they have invaded
Ukraine. If Ukraine sees an opportunity for a counter offensive into
Russian territory that would weaken their invader, they'd be stupid not to
    take it.

Ukraine is an independent and soverein country that is trying to

the USA to stand idly by and do nothing at all to prevent that
from happening? Suppose we would have done nothing to stop Hitler?
Do you think FDR and Hitler would have sat down together and made

I reckon that is what you were hoping to happen - between Trump

Biden is the one who told Putin NO - thus ruining Mad Vlad's plans.

I think it depends on what part of the public. I care. You apparently do.
Many (D) voters may or may not care -- those that believe Joe Biden when
he claims that no military members have died on his watch probably don't
    care.

The general public, who may be so tired of "news" might care if they were
    even aware of it happening.
