Attempting to install Synchronet on a fresh windows 10 64 bit system
The link provided to download the MSVCR100.DL is no longer available from Microsoft.
I did install the visual c+ 2015 vcruntime.dll
When I ran setup I received the following message

Attempting to install Synchronet on a fresh windows 10 64 bit systemI also just installed synchronet on a fresh windows 10 64 bit system. I had the same problem as your having. I put the two files it wanted into windows/system32 and broke windows beyond repair. So I reformatted and began again. This time, after getting windows back on, I went to the wiki site and installed synchronet from there. I had no problems after that. Synchronet went right on and even helped me allow it through my firewall. I also had no errors. My website is up and running this time (wasn't working on windows 7 system). I hope this was helpful.

//Hello Trapper,//I installed synchronet from wiki.synchro.net. And windows I have on a thumbdrive obtained from microsoft. It is all running correctly now that I did things correctly. I am usually pretty good with compuetrs, but I have my moments of stupidity.

No, it did not ask to overwrite, but I think it did. I now realize the two files were off the upgrade of windows and not from the actual win 10 pro. Rooky move I know. No big deal though it was a fresh install on a new drive. after a quick reformat and new install its running great.

I know, it suprised me as well. I was waiting for the
confirmation but nothing happened. I rebooted and it would not
come back up. I have a windows repair thumb drive. It went
through its routines but when it rebooted it was still broken. I
did not spend too much time on it just because it was a new
install and I was loosing nothing by formatting and reinstalling.
I suppose I should have taken the time to figure out what was
going on for future refrence.

You asked me to quote some of the message I am responding to
because it is hard to follow the conversation. Sure, I can do
that.
I didn't realize some of the conversation goes away because
I was hitting CTRL A to respond. I just assumed the entire
conversation was there I guess.
From now On I will do that.

But.... you didn't here. I guess you mean on your next reply. :-)

Ahhh, if you're hitting Ctrl-A to *select* the previous message's text,
you then have to hit Ctrl-M to *paste* it into your reply, and then
you'll be able to type stuff below it.
From now On I will do that.
That would be good, and appreciated by everyone. Thanks.

coping and pasting. I tried it here, I hoped it worked.

These days some use the word, 'copypasta' to save syllables.
25 years is a long time to drop off the wire. I vaguely remember
computers at the library linked up to gopher, WAIS, and BBS.
