• Using subs Menu

From vela025 to All on Thursday, October 24, 2024 13:01:59

    Hi All,
Is there a knack to using the optional menus subs<x>, I have 3 subs:
    1) BeeBS
    2) SIGs
    3) Dove Net
I have the grps menu which works fine but this then leads to the dynamically generated list rather than using subs1.msg, I've tried sub1 and subs 1. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Those looks like message groups (not subs).

I created /sbbs/text/menu/subs1.msg and when I am in the first message and hit '*' (in the default command shell), it shows the contents of the subs1.msg file. Seems to work as expected for me.

Sorry yes they're my groups which display with the grps menu. I think I must be misunderstanding how the subs menu should work, I assumed if I selected 1 from the grps menu it would then go on to display sub1 (from /sbbs/text/menu/subs1.msg ) which contains the list of subs in group 1 rather than the dynamic list for group 1 which I'm getting at the moment?

Okay, think I see the problem: the message group numbering was starting at 0 rather than 1. Now fixed (in load/shell_lib.js). Thank you,

Great thanks that's solved the problem.

Also having problems with tmessage menu not displaying. The wiki says it's called from default.src (which does contain "chkfile "%zmenu/tmessage.*") but there's nothing in default.js making reference to tmessage (although I'm not sure if that's important).

Thank you. Looks like another oversight in the translation from Baja to JS.
