    Hello All!

Do anyone still have problems about compiling Sqafix from CVS?

    I did ran a DOS2UNIX on *.c/*.h files.

I'm very tierd of having some software which can't compile on all compilers, so
let me know if there is still problems.

And there was me thinking there was something new :) Compiled here okay, haven't updated tcob1.net as yet

    That's good to hear..

I wonder if Vince and Michiele can do the same?

Good! :-) I upgraded the BETA version number for Squish yesterday, maybe 1.12 is reality soon.

(If you can report some more bugs ;-))

Good! :-) I upgraded the BETA version number for

Do anyone still have problems about compiling Sqafix from CVS?

    I did ran a DOS2UNIX on *.c/*.h files.

I'm very tierd of having some software which can't compile on all
compilers, so let me know if there is still problems.

And there was me thinking there was something new :) Compiled here
okay, haven't updated tcob1.net as yet

    That's good to hear..

I wonder if Vince and Michiele can do the same?

Good news first, compiles great on my Debian system.

SuSE 8.0, if I copy (FTP) the maximus directory from the Debian box, it compiles fine, if I then do a make clean, and try and compile, it says it cannot find -lcurses while compiling squish. Weird.

So no compiler problem, but for some reason, curses is not being found, will later install *everything* with *curses* in its name and try again.

libmax as well I would assume. Things like this is what makes porting quite difficult, to say the least. Without those dependancies being met on the target then there will be failures, bugs, etc.

Oh well, the error was ingored anyway. It was caused by a warning, because the canon code is kinda f'cked up as far as I can see.

I can comment this warning stuff out, if it's a problem.

Yes, but it's a big work, Sqafix is the one which is causing most warnings, but
I plan to reduce them, then I get some time :-)

Is the Mecca and Mex compilers working yet?

Mecca do, it has been working all the time, but the MEX problem haven't I get into.

Indeed, but were are not that far in the project to think of these things.

Hm. I haven't looked at it for some time now. I am waiting for work to start on a Linux version and hopefully I'll be ready to help out there. I can see ncurses fitting in there for sure. Same with BSD I imagine.

    Life is good,

Good news first, compiles great on my Debian system.

    Damn good :-)

SuSE 8.0, if I copy (FTP) the maximus directory from the Debian
box, it compiles fine, if I then do a make clean, and try and
compile, it says it cannot find -lcurses while compiling squish.
    Weird.

So no compiler problem, but for some reason, curses is not being
found, will later install *everything* with *curses* in its name
    and try again.

squish requires ncurses, because some libery (it bet it's libcompat)
would require it.. It's kinda sad ..

Hmmm ... compared the *curses* files on my Debian system to those on the SuSE 8.0 system, and found that "libncurses.a" was not symlinked to "libcurses.a" in the /usr/lib/ directory. Created the symlink and Maximus compiles fine.
    Now I wonder why? ....

Good! :-) I upgraded the BETA version number for
Squish yesterday, maybe 1.12 is reality soon.

(If you can report some more bugs ;-))

ahh, geez... now he wants me to install this stuff and learn a
whole new bbs methodology and new tosser and mailer stuffs, too...
    [gd&r]

Huh? Why are you trying to compile the program then? ;-)

to help getting it compiled on older systems with different configurations <<wink>>... and because i can <<<GGG>>>

curses and ncurses are similar, I believe the "n" in ncurses stands for
"new", I do know, that in a few other programs, they seem to be interchangable, with ncurses, being preffered.
