I desire to hope BinkP server is added to PXW.

It is unlikely to happen, at present I am using Internet Rex.
I recently installed VModem and it ties in with PXW. I am looking for Sysops using WINS and PXW to fine tune it.
Let me know if your interested and I will send my configs, Netserial has a 3 day trial period.

Same here.

You mean NetSerial. VMODEM is the same thing, but is a part of SIO for OS/2.

Yeah, I bought NetSerial way back when it was still Com/IP. I have 10 nodes of PX/WINS listening on my NetSerial ports on port 3456 here.

Why port 3456 and not the Fidonet Standard of 3141?

3141 is not a ""fidonet standard"" port... it is the i'net standard
port for the VMODEM protocol, though...

Thanks for the technical correction.
The question is the same though, why use port 3456 instead of 3141
since using port 3141 allows the Sysop to add VDM flag to the nodelist without adding the port number.
Hi Robert,
I see you have been up and down quite a bit at your end, all fixed?
Yes, Netserial.
What version are you using?

unless there is a mailer on telnet...

You have to remember, I am connected via hotel WiFi and a VPN service,
so I will be down from time to time. Please bear with me.
3141 is only for OS/2 users runing SIO and its VMODEM.EXE driver for 8-bit VMODEM-TO-VMODEM communication.

That makes life hard, main thing is connections are still fast even from Oz.

small clarification/correction: 3141 is the IANA assigned port number for th vmodem protocol no matter what software implements the protocol or what OS i is used on... the vmodem protocol is a slightly modified form of the telnet protocol ;)

Yeah, but I think SIO's VMODEM.EXE listens on that port by default for 8-bit VMODEM-to-VMODEM connections (using ATDT #<address) vs ATDT <address) if memory serves me correctly.

Guys,
I tried to call nodes listed with a IVM to test, I was not able to
connect to any Zone 1 nodes because I beleive they are all down far as Vmodem goes, however the first Zone 2 node 2:2432/394 connected ok.

Was this using standard port 23? If so, VMODEM.EXE under OS/2 and SIO also listens on port 23.

Yeah, don't think we will see that feature in PX/WINS for a while,
sadly, what with the way things are going.
He ties the node count to PX now so he could sell more node upgrades(1:123/140)
with it. Right now im just going to get the 2 node upgrade pack for the time being. If he added the server id add another 8 nodes. 12 is enough
for a hobbyist.
