    GE Ed,

I couldn't find any articles on Bleeping Computers or Wired about
telemetry today when I looked for them.
Sorry for mentioning those two web sites in a previous message.

    OK

Most of the Articles I found about Windows 10 and Telemetry were
    on Woody Leonhard's askwoody.com pages.

Here are some of the articles I found today.
Take a look at some of them if You will.

    TNX

Almost all of the URL's I had to split to two lines to fit them
    here.

Quite normal if you don't use any of the shorthand services.

Does Your Windows 10 computer have Automatic Updates turned ON?

    Yes.

I'm asking because that is one of the main things Woody Leonhard
says to not to have ON but to wait until He gives a go ahead to
allow a Update on a computer.

The machine notifies you that there is an update avaiable and asks:
Do you want to apply it Y/N.

I have used TinyURL to do that some but haven't thought of using it for
    some time now.
    Thanks for the reminder.

Ttbomk Woody tries the Updates to see if anything is in them that would
change a computer into a brick, and reporting if a update from Microsoft
might cause someones computer a problem.

You have been using computers long before I started and I figured You
know of Woody Leonhard and have read articles He has written when He was
with Windows Secrets and know what He says can be trusted.

That's how I feel about His www.askwoody.com website, and also some of
the people who comment about Woody's article I feel are very capable and knowledgeable about things that happen with computers.

    What does Ttbomk stand for??

AVG checks everything when it's downloaded. The update is first
downloaded, and after that you will be asked if you want it applied.

No, I don't know Woody Leonhard, and haven't been reading him or any

Mark answered that for me I see.

When I have used Windows Update on my computers after Microsoft sends
the new data the next thing that happens is it is installed, or sometimes
fails to install and I have to go through the Windows Update again.

BTW, when I use Windows Update I do it manually, I don't use the
Automatic Option, and I select the Custom Update Option to see what is
offered first before getting any Updates from MS.

I began using BBS's to learn about what I should do on my computer by
reading what other Users and SysOps wrote about.
I found lots of good information, and still do.

As you may know, I have mostly been using OS/2, even though I have
played with some versions of Windows.

Actually I began with Windows v1.3, then 2.0, then 3, then 3.11 WfWG and
then XPpro bnecause it happened to be installed on a laptop I bought.
