Well, one good thing about the Windows 10 File Explorer is the file
history snapshot and quick access list to the left. I like it since it restored the file history feature that Windows 8 left out. Windows 7
    is still good though.

You've got a menu bar along the top? Click View - which should open the View ribbon below the menus. On the left of that, you should see an item - Navigation pane. Click that and there should be an option to view the Navigation pane or not. Click to enable it.

Next step(s) will be to customize what appears in the Navigation Pane - what you've referred to as the 'Left Listing'. You can add - or remove - items from the Quick Access list by right-clicking them (in the larger main window) and choosing Pin to Quick Access. You can re-order items in the Quick Access list by simply dragging them up or down.

Is there a way you can reset the Windows 10 stock view that reflects
the left side display of shorcuts, top half display of drives, and
bottom half of recent files & places? Did you upgrade your computer to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or 8? If you did, maybe it brought through
your previous settings from those OS's. Reset the view back to default
and see what happens. I think you will like the new functionality.

Alan comes to the Rescue again, thanks
While the new file explorer has a few to many bells and whistles for me
I can now work with it.

Next to 'shut down the system and restart it', check the options in the 'View' menu is my most common tech-support suggestion.

    Hello Bryan.

I find that Macs are more fun to use but not for everyone. I personally hate working on Windows machines because it keeps locking up and being
    stupid :)

I do not find this to be recurrent. OS is like a religion, someone once said,
maybe. I do not kneel and pray in front of any computor. As far as I am concerned, it is a question of habit, said the monk. My wife was given a Macbook Air and I am asked at times to solve a problem, I usually find a way but I have to search and peek all over, I do not know the OS or what is behind the screen, such is my play.
I will give you your opinion, do respect mine in turn. The stupidity is often
on the interface between the chair and the keyboard.
