• Win - X

From Jean Parrot@3:640/384 to Holger Granholm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 01:13:56
Holger, once more, a nice morn to you.

I don't seem to be able to get the Zone Alarm Free Firewall anymore.
    I miss it :o(

Win-X is peculiar in this regard. It gets rid of Ccleaner all the time,
I re-install it and then it is again, gone.

Yesterday, i tried to do a Reset. I got it going but when it mentioned that it
would remove > 20 of my apps as not compatible although they run fine, I got out of reset.

I have set Opera as my Internet Browser, but even though I write the address to the system I want to visit, Google comes into play to find
the address I already know :o(

Go to Tools -> Manage add-ons -> Search Providers and at the bottom "More
    Providers" search for Opera. Voilà.

BTW, did you receive the netmail I sent via Pauls system.

    As Paul mentioned, no !

I'll have to check that. I only used it once, and didn't even uncheck
anything in the list, but so far even PMailWin works, even that is the
only program that needs NTVCD (or whatever) to work.

Haven't checked that Reset is part of the Ccleaner program.

Thanks for the advice. The Opera v35 has changed a lot since I installed
Opera 5 on this OS/2 machine.

    Hi Jean,

I had Johan, my eldest GS here over the weekend, but after he returned to Stockholm, he works there, I've been working on Opera and my e-mail prg.

First of all, I found the menu at the upper left corner. It didn't have
exactly the choices you suggested, but by cut-and-error I got some things
    done.

I got rid of the search-engine icons from the opening screen and put in a couple of favourite sites instead, and now I can set the address where I
want to go, without interference by Google.

If I want to use Google, I just use the 'g' command to call it up.

On friday I checked with the ISP I used B4, if my previous (resting),
account was still available, and it is. Since the same mail program I
used under OS/2, now is available (PMMail) for Windows too, and all the
files are compatible between the versions, I've been copying them to
    Win10 too.

It was quite easy too, since I had made backups of everything on a couple
of diskettes, when the ISP ceased POTS support, three and a half year
    ago.

But the names of the mail accounts have changed, so I want to know if the
old names of my configuration still work, and also If I have to make any configurations in Windows setup, as we had to do in earlier Win versions.
