    Hi All,

    Anyone know if I can do 1920x1080 rez (the display will do it) over a 15-pin VGA cable (cpu to monitor)? No hdmi or Dvi :(

    Yes. I've been doing it on my Ubuntu-driven Dell (Inspiron?) 560, downstairs,.. for nearly eight years. Got some beautiful screenshots of the desktop from it too. :)

    sure! why should a VGA cable stop you? i'm doing 1600x1200 over exactly that type of connection...

    You can, but the signal isn't the greatest. I've been swapping out analog
    VGA cables at work on 27" monitors for DVI or DP to HDMI and seeing a great improvement.

    They do make USB video adapters, but it might not be worth the hassle/cost. Your mileage may very, I'm picky about my monitors.
