It seems Microsoft is trying to force people into the untested updates.

If that is case that is not a good thing to do since they already have issues with writing buggy code.

What is the latest update version number? My version is currently 1903
build 18362.535. I did try multiple times not to update and I think I
    might have finally made it.

I wonder if I'm still at the latest version or if a newer one should
have been applied --- because if so, that means my last attempt has been successful.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Looks like last version might be 2004 build 10.0.19041.331 or something like that. I guess my change has been working well. I got no updates from Microsoft.

LOL. We have been beta testers for years already.

I moved from Win7 to Win10 for my mailer and I run both a windows and DOS version. With the 2004 update, it broke everything so I went back to the 1909 and staying put as I do not have the time to troubleshoot or chase solutions down for the every changing desktop. Might just go back to Win7, it ran just fine for years.

    Dale,

LOL. We have been beta testers for years already.

Reminds me of the bulletin on my BBS "You Want To Be A Sysop??", dealing
with a Sysop doing an upgrade, and things crash out...with it noting "Now,
you know what the term 'beta test site' really means". <G>

The 2004 update took over 7 hours to download, install, and go through
all of the reboots. But, I've got everything working over here. The BBS
is on a 32-bit version of Windows 10 (so I didn't have to give up the
legacy doorgames), on my late Mom's computer. My laptop, where I read
the QWK Mail, and play the BBS doorgames...plus, do my ham radio and
square dance related stuff, is on a Windows 10 64-bit system.

At least the update this past Tuesday didn't take as long to finish.

... Failure is not an option. It comes shipped with Windows.

Oh man, 2004 broke so very much stuff, especially BBS related. I'd just got the board back on it's feet when I started having to fix the latest update related stuff, so it prompted me to actually just migrate everything over to Linux like I'd wanted to for some time.

Well, right now, I've got everything working. When it installed the new
Edge browser, I had to completely reinstall Firefox.
