• Spanish translation

From Fernando Toledo@4:902/26 to Tim Schattkowsk on Sunday, December 01, 2024 23:52:03
At Z4 we are interested in collaborating with the Spanish translation. Unfortunately we don't know German, but we can do it from the English version. It would be nice if the code was available in a repo (for example git or similar) so we could send pull requests.
It seemed to me that there are still strings that are "hard coded" because I can't find them in the .INI files.
I hope you can publish the source code so we can try to improve winpoint.

    Saludos!

That would be great. Hate that incomplete thing.

    That would be perfectly fine.

because I can't find them in the .INI files.

As far as I recall, everything except the Hatch Assistent and the File Request Editor (which could use some rework anyway) should be fully translatable through the .INI files. Can you give an example of what you have been looking for?

Have you also checked the English .INI, which is my reference for translation? I may not have updated the Spanish .INI in some cases.

I hope you can publish the
source code so we can try to improve winpoint.

Unfortunately, WP still relies on commercial components from the past, so I cannot publish the code.

    Regards,
    Tim

BTW.. this in the lang_Español.ini file:

MSG_UnknownAddr=Please set up a Mailbox for %s or update your nodelists to include that system!

Nice to see multi-lang support with simply the .INI

Could a Latvian.INI (Latviešu.INI) be utilized the same way?

I know. I added lot of more translatable text after the spanish file was created. However, at a certain point I stopped copying over the placeholders from the english files. I would suggest anybody to use the english or german files for reference as the spanish one may be incomplete.

Sure. Should be named lang_Latvian.INI (if I recall correctly).
