I'll never understand the mindset of those that must connect to everyone everywhere... to each his own I guess though <grin>

I guess it's the bitterness of having a feed go down on you for two and a half weeks before it come back up and then wasn't fully functional for some time after that.

Especially when your name is being drug through a cowfield full of hot and steamy cowpies in another echo you don't have access to on other systems. Toward the end you graciously gave me access to that echo but he came back online after that.

Since then I haven't kept my eggs in one basket. And as I am starting to feed quite a few others I try to provide the best and most solid service I can.
When Wildcat wasn't doing it I self-sacrificed and moved to synchronet for all of my mail/file operations and it is doing the job at a higher level than Platinum Express ever could do. In fact, with the solid state drive I can literally have a .pkt turnaround in just seconds upon arrival... and that includes over a million usenet messages that are going through my filters and going out for those who are feeding usenet (both as nntp and fts) from me.

I'm actually almost caught up with the backfill of a lot of the larger newsgroups.

My fiber connection is no where near capacity I will help those I can help where I can help them.

All I'm askign is for a few links to a couple of echos that only moved through ross when I had them.

The first part is the reason given ... everything after that was a PLUS

Bob Seaborn, "At this point in time I do not wish any more downlinks, due to the necessary reconfiguration because of Cassell's leaving, and having to set up with his replacement NAB member."

Not wishing any more downlinks sure sounds like you have your fill... and are at capacity.

Sounds more like he wants to get any reconfiguration done, before even th inking of adding more downlinks.

    Hello allen,

I'm thinking that could only be one possible reason. Not necessarily the only OR correct reason. Given the current actual situation. The reason that I would
perceive would be that he desired to get things on his end setup prior to taking on more downlinks. It would seem that your perception is being controlled by you attitude regarding the matter. JMHO.

Which is exactly what I told him about accepting new links at this time.
