• Broken link

From ACCESS DENIED@46:1/701 to ALL on Thursday, January 31, 2019 19:20:29
    Hello All,

I think I've narrowed down the broken link that's reposting messages that have already been passed around Agoranet. I'll try to get him fixed up ASAP. Though it's a former Daydream system that moved to Mystic, so I'm not sure where the problem lies just yet. :(

    Regards,
    Nick

Why to go inspector gadget .. (: hum your not talking about Esc Monterey board are you? Hard to believe, he would switch to mystic after working on Daydream coding. I would think that he put a great deal of his time into that.

Would that explain why you saw x 2 of the same post from my system?

Fingers crossed... I am kind of stumped as to why my end would send something out the same twice.

No. It's Ignatius/Mercutio. Apparantly he's merging over to Mystic for the first time, and is running into some speed bumps along the way. No worries, I'm

sure he'll be up and running soon.

If you catch him on IRC, maybe you can give him a few screenshots/pointers!

    Regards,
    Nick

    Yep, that's exactly why.

The second one didn't originate from your system. It was reposted by another system.

It's most likely getting through my Synchronet system because the only difference in the entire message is in the PATH line. I don't think Synchronet's dupe checking is nearly as good. :)

That is true, Mystic (in more recent versions) does not factor in the PATH line. It looks at date, time, from, to, subject, echotag, and msg text minus kludge and seen-by text. If those appear to be the same, its a dupe.

I found this to be the best method after trying a few other ways first,
because it gives good results in exactly this situation when other tossers do not catch it!

I still haven't had a single dupe make it though here. Looks like a total of 78 dupes were sent to me though, according to logging.
